The Director of Jamhuriya Incubation Center (JIC), Mr. Mohamed Abdi Elmi, and a group of our dedicated students participated in the Broader Policy Round Table Workshop organized by UNIDO Somalia.
The event brought together a diverse range of stakeholders—innovation hubs, microfinance institutions, banks, and development partners—to explore meaningful policy pathways for supporting and strengthening Somalia’s Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Discussions focused on identifying practical solutions and collaborative approaches to address the challenges faced by Somali entrepreneurs.
Key themes included improving access to finance, fostering innovation, supporting regulatory reforms, and building networks that connect small businesses with growth opportunities. It was an inspiring platform for learning, dialogue, and shared vision.

As an institution, JIC remains committed to nurturing startups, promoting youth-led innovation, and contributing to a more resilient and inclusive business environment across Somalia.
We believe that strategic partnerships and informed policies are essential to unlocking the full potential of Somali entrepreneurs.

We thank UNIDO Somalia for organizing such an impactful event and look forward to continued collaboration with stakeholders to empower MSMEs and drive sustainable economic development.
