The Faculty of Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering, at Jamhuriya University of Science and Technology (JUST), in collaboration with the Jamhuriya Incubation Center (JIC) and STARC Somalia, is pleased to announce the official commencement of the Professional Solar PV Design & Installation Program.

This industry-oriented professional training program brings together aspiring engineers, technicians, university students, and renewable energy professionals to develop the practical knowledge and technical competencies required to design, install, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot Solar Photovoltaic (PV) systems.

Throughout the program, participants will gain hands-on exposure to key areas of solar PV technology, including system design and sizing, installation techniques, electrical connections, system operation, maintenance, fault identification, and troubleshooting. The training is designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical industry requirements, preparing participants for real-world applications and emerging opportunities in the renewable energy sector.

As Somalia continues to explore sustainable and reliable energy solutions, developing a skilled workforce in solar energy and renewable technologies is essential. This program represents a shared commitment to strengthening technical capacity, promoting green skills, and preparing the next generation of professionals to contribute to Somalia’s sustainable energy transition.
